ArmAs Areni 2012
Availability: | In stock |
This ArmAs Areni is made with the Areni grape.
This Areni grape owes its name to the village of Areni in Armenia. Where excavations show that wine has been made with this grape for 6,000 years. This makes it one of the oldest surviving grape varieties. This grape has the innate ability to surprise you with its noble character. Winemaker Emilio del Medico carefully selected these grapes from the best vineyards in the region. And in the ArmAs cellar they nurtured their flowering in this exceptional wine. The smell is reminiscent of the terroir, enhanced by the fact that it rested briefly in oak barrels. On the palate, the wine displays elegance and a balanced tannic structure with notes of cherries, strawberries and wild blackberries, with violets, wisteria and sweet vanilla, all in seductive harmony.
This Armenian wine is best served with aged cheese, white meat and hearty meat-based soups and sauces, as well as pasta with mushrooms and grilled meat. After two years of aging in the bottle, this wine will excel in combination with noble game birds and poultry.
