Gevorkian Ariats Areni Semi Kakhani 2018
Ariats Ripasso red is produced from the four best Armenian red grape varieties: Areni (85%) and Nrneni (15%) from the Ararat Valley. The production was done according to the classic Ripasso technology: 70% new wines are brewed with 30% dried grapes. (see photo below)
The grapes were left to dry for 2 to 3 months before they were pressed. (see extra photo below)
They also stayed in old Karabakh oak barrels for 6 months. Karabakh wood is different from the traditional French or American oak. This also gives a special touch to this wine.
The wine has an intensely dark ruby color, is abundant, imperial and mysterious. This wine has a prominent aroma of overripe cherries, plums and black grapes with a hint of vanilla and chocolate.
